Phenotyping Rice (Oryza sativa. L) Genotypes for Nitrogen use Efficiency

Aim: Global food security has become a serious issue, nitrogen fertilizer use increased agricultural productivity globally, but at significant environmental cost. The present study was aimed to identification of rice genotypes from the existing germplasm or development cultivars that can make best N in low soils is essential for sustainability agriculture
 Study Design: experiment laid out split plot design with three levels as main plots and twenty five subplots.
 Place Study: screening conducted December 2021April 2022 wetland, Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore.
 Methodology: Twenty were cultivated 0% Recommended Dose Nitrogen (RDN) (T0), 50% RDN (T1), 100% (T2) control under field conditions, morphological traits such plant height, leaf area; number tillers, total dry weight recorded along photosynthetic efficiency (PNUE).Two-way ANOVA Cluster analysis used analyze data.
 Result: results revealed among genotypes, G3 highest (25.10) followed by G7 (22.62) (T0). lowest PNUE G11 (5.99) (T2). Across exhibited NUE.
 Conclusion: Observations relies upon genotype exhibit high shows efficiency.
